New Flower Brooch Crochet Kit

I’m relaunching my Flower Brooch Kit this January. It now features a choice of two gorgeous new colours to bring you a little brightness while the skies are grey.

The stunning yarn now appearing in this kit is hand-dyed in Dorset by the talented Becca of Bluebell Yarns. Do check out her website for the most scrumptious selection of vibrant yarns for every project, guaranteed to get your creative juices flowing.

I’m very picky about the yarns I offer in my kits. My goal is always to make them sustainable without compromising the quality of result for the project concerned. These wonderful yarns are the perfect example of how these two things do not have to be in conflict.

The two colours to choose from in the relaunched Flower Brooch Kit are a glorious deep purple with soft variegation, and a fun pink colourway which contains shades from cream to peach to cerise and magenta. I have sourced glossy natural shell buttons that complement each of the yarns perfectly.

Aren’t these so pretty? A small project like this is such a great pick-me-up for a dark winter evening.

Becca of Bluebell Yarns who created these wonderful colours is very knowledgable about yarn. You should read her fascinating explanation of the superwash process. The yarns in this Flower Brooch Kit, along with the yarns in my other crochet kits which use wool, are all British, non superwash yarns. Wool is an annually-renewable resource that I also use as the stuffing material provided in many of my kits.

It’s a real shame if beginners are put off knitting or crochet by a bad experience with poor materials – such as the snaggy plastic crochet hooks and terrible quality yarn you often find in children’s ‘learn to…” kits or provided on the front of magazines. You can be assured that the materials and equipment provided in Little Conkers crochet kits are top quality and a pleasure to work with.

Eco-friendly Flower Brooch Kit

My button flower crochet kit is perfect for anyone with basic crochet knowledge looking for a small project to practise their skills. The kit contains enough yarn to make one brooch, with a pin back and matching button provided. The kit also includes a metal yarn needle, and optionally, a lovely Pony ‘Perfect’ wooden crochet hook.

🟩 I rate this as an Easy/Advanced Beginner Level Pattern. The 8-page crochet pattern included in the kit – which is printed on 100% recycled paper – is detailed and contains lots of colour photos to help with every step. For more information about the difficulty levels of my kits, please see How Easy Are Your Crochet Kits?

Each flower brooch kit is beautifully presented so it makes a great gift for a crafty and/or eco-minded friend.

Looking ahead to later in the spring, this kit is a perfect Mother’s Day gift!
