At Little Conkers you will find a range of eco-friendly crochet kits suited to both crochet beginners and more experienced crocheters.
If you want the reassurance of knowing a particular yarn will work with a particular pattern, then a crochet kit is a great idea.
Each of my kits takes one of my easy-to-follow, fully-illustrated crochet patterns, and adds to it the yarn, hook(s) and all the other notions you need to complete a successful project first time, without the need to shop around.
When I was starting out in crochet, I made some bad mistakes choosing yarns that just weren’t suitable for a given project, or mixing different types of yarn inappropriately within a single project because I couldn’t find the colours I wanted in a single brand of yarn (a disaster come washing and blocking time). I’m sure many of you have been there! Or perhaps you are just bamboozled with the yarn terminology swirling around the international crochet community. Well, when I started Little Conkers I knew I wanted to smooth some of these troubles, which lead me to creating my crochet kits.
Little Conkers kits range in crochet skill level from Beginner Level to Intermediate Level. Take a look at my blog that answers the question “How easy are your crochet kits?“
The range includes projects that are practical and … less practical (I’m looking at you, teeny amphorae) so there’s bound to be something to suit your mood and crochet goals.
My bestselling kit is my robin kit (particularly popular as Christmas gifts for crocheters), but the duckling is running him a close second.
Crochet Kits for Beginners
I am often asked about which of my kits are most suitable for beginners. The following kits are suitable for those starting out in crochet to use alongside the books, online tutorials, videos, etc, to practise their new skills. For more information, please see How Easy are your Crochet Kits?
If you’ve never crocheted before
I have also put together a complete starter crochet set for those who have never picked up a crochet hook before, and I can highly recommend this “A Little Course in Crochet” book from Dorling Kindersley.
Do ask if you’d like my advice on learning to crochet, or if you have any questions about the kits.
Crochet Kit Contents
Like all Little Conkers creations, my crochet kits are as eco-friendly as I can make them. Within the range you will find top quality 100% organic cotton yarn, recycled yarns and natural British sheep’s wool – never any synthetics. Where the project requires stuffing, I include 100% natural sheep’s wool. Some projects also include up-cycled buttons and fabric.
All my crochet kits come with the option of including a sustainable crochet hook in the size most often needed to complete the project. Full details will be given on the particular kit as I am currently using both bamboo and sustainably-sourced wooden hooks in my different kits, due to the difficulty in getting the numbers of hooks I require due to the pandemic. If you are used to using metal hooks, you should enjoy the lighter and warmer feel of wooden and bamboo hooks.
The kits also contain yarn needles and any other notions required.
All my patterns come in both UK and US crochet versions, some en français too. In most of my kits you can choose to receive the pattern printed on 100% recycled paper and included in the kit, or I can e-mail a digital copy of the pattern to you, if you prefer to view your patterns on your tablet, e-reader, etc, saving paper in the process!
My crochet kits are packed in smart reusable boxes (70% recycled) and will arrive in the post wrapped securely with recycled brown paper and paper parcel tape. Do ask if you’d like to know more about the materials I use.
As well as offering a helping hand finding the perfect yarn and notions for a project if you are buying them for yourself, kits also make a lovely gift for anyone even a little crafty. Personally I love a gift that gives you pleasure over several days as you get those creative juices flowing, maybe trying a new skill for the first time. And then of course you have the finished article to enjoy too!
I offer an eco-friendly gift-wrapping service as well as the convenience of dispatching directly to the recipient if you wish.

Occasionally I list some “seconds” kits. The only difference between these kits and my regular kits above is that the main yarn is not one continuous length. If you have no trouble joining new yarn in the middle of your work, then these are a great way to save money whilst helping me to reduce waste by using up yarn that I cannot include in my regular line of kits.
