Description
Complete kit to crochet three greek or roman amphorae in eco-friendly materials.
This makes a really unusual gift for a crocheter, or for the ancient history lover in your life.
The beautifully-presented kit contains everything you need to make three different amphorae in a smart, reusable box:
- 27-page fully-illustrated pattern printed on recycled paper
- cotton-blend yarn (51% recycled)
- up-cycled fabric (will vary)
- 100% natural sheep’s wool for stuffing
- sewing thread
- blunt-tipped yarn needle
- sharp sewing needle
The pattern is worked with a 3.5mm (E-4) crochet hook (or the size needed to make a compact crochet fabric with the given yarn). You can choose to include a lovely bamboo crochet hook in the kit if you don’t have one or are giving the kit as a gift.
The finished amphorae measure approximately 8.5 to 12cm (3⅜ inches to 4¾ inches).
Read more about the amphorae crochet pattern on my blog, where you will also find links to download the digital pattern.
I aim to make the contents and packaging of all my crochet kits as eco-friendly as possible:
- box – 70% recycled, reusable and recyclable.
- ball bands, box labels – 100% recycled paper, recyclable.
- pattern – 100% recycled paper, recyclable.
- tissue – 100% recycled, recyclable.
- business cards, tags, etc – handmade from greeting cards, cereal packets, etc, recyclable.
As a recycled product, the exact colour of the recycled yarn may vary slightly from batch to batch. The wool stuffing is a natural product and comes in a variety of sheepy colours. It is scoured, clean and carded, but may include the odd tiny bit of straw or leaf. The fabric is up-cycled from off-cuts donated to me, often from vintage fabrics, and will vary in pattern but will always complement the yarn. I will never buy new fabric to supplement these kits.
