Newly listed in my shop this week are these pretty mistletoe brooches, available as they are, or mounted on a personalised greetings card for a small gift and card in one.
These were a design I created years ago when selling in-person at events, but I don’t believe I have ever listed them online.
I had to find a yarn that I thought worked perfectly for the leaves and berries, and now that I have, I’m very happy to be able to add them to my shop.
The leaves of the mistletoe brooches are made from 100% linen: 85% is recycled rayon-linen fibre, sorted from selected wastage and regenerated using the eco-friendly hydrolysis method and 15% is new natural linen. The white berries are organic cotton.
This lovely eco-friendly linen yarn is the same as I use for my miniature Christmas trees:
Mistletoe is a fascinating plant both biologically and in terms of the mythology and folklore associated with it. Read more about mistletoe on the Kew Gardens website.
My mistletoe brooches are available as a simple brooch – presented like all my brooches on a recycled card, cut from old cereal packets, greetings cards, etc. Find all my eco-friendly brooches in the Little Conkers shop.
The brooches are also available mounted on a greetings card so you can send a little gift and card in one. The card can be personalised with the greeting of your choice on the front, and comes with a sturdy box envelope for onward posting.
The greetings cards are 100% recycled, of course, and come with your choice of border – either little holly springs, or a plain border. The cards are blank inside for your own message.
