Crocheted bi-coloured gourds with stripes

Decorative Pear Gourd Crochet Pattern #2

It’s been a funny old year, hasn’t it (and it’s not nearly over either)! I haven’t been able to keep to my original plans for publishing patterns over the last several months, but I’m hoping to get back to designing and publishing more now, starting with this decorative gourd crochet pattern, the next in my pumpkin and gourd series.

The new addition to the range is the Bi-colourd Pear Gourd #2 – sister pattern to Bi-Coloured Pear Gourd #1.

This gourd features that wondrous sudden colour-change that makes it look as if the base has been dipped in paint. The pattern shows you how to alter the depth of this section to make all your gourds different.

You can have so much fun varying the stripes too.

Using DK (light worsted weight, Category 3) yarn and a 3.5mm (US size E-4) crochet hook this gourd is approximately 10cm long (not counting the stalk).

But you can choose a different weight yarn and appropriate hook to make larger or smaller gourds.

Mix and match with my mini pumpkins and other gourds to make a real talking point in your autumn home decor.
