Pumpkin Crochet Kit – SECONDS

Bargain crochet kit to make two mini pumpkin ornaments in sustainable, eco-friendly materials.

This kit is ideal for ideal for experienced crocheters who have no problem joining yarns as they work.

This kit identical in every way to my full-price pumpkin crochet kit, except that it includes a slightly damaged ball of yarn. I received two balls of yarn from my supplier where some of the outer wraps of yarn have been cut (please see pictures). I can’t use these in my regular kits, but I don’t want them to go to waste and this yarn could still easily be used by an experienced crocheter. Beyond the few outer strands, the rest of the yarn balls appear completely unaffected. I would suggest starting from the inner yarn tail (these are centre-pull balls) and you may not even have to deal with those cut lengths if you finish your pumpkins before you reach the end of the yarn. I will also include a few more metres of the same yarn to account for any extra joins you do need to make.

Using these yarn balls that I can’t offer in my regular kits is a great way for me to reduce waste whilst offering you a saving!

The full contents of this crochet kit to make the pair of pumpkins is as follows:

• 15-page fully-illustrated pattern printed on recycled paper
• 50g+ organic cotton yarn (damaged, see above)
• 100% natural British sheep’s wool stuffing
• blunt-tipped yarn needle
• gift tag up-cycled from cereal packets, greetings cards, etc

When finished, the two pumpkins are 7cm (2¾ inches) and 9cm (3½ inches) in diameter.

The pattern is worked with a 3.5mm (US size: E-4) crochet hook (or the size you need to make a compact crochet fabric with the given yarn). I offer lovely natural bamboo crochet hooks by Pony if you would like to try one.

🟨 The pumpkin pattern is suitable for an advanced beginner, but the damage to the yarn included in this kit means I would suggest this kit only for an experienced crocheter who is happy to make and hide multiple joins in their work. If you are not comfortable with this, then my regular pumpkin crochet kit would be a better choice for you.

The kit contents and packaging aims to be as eco-friendly as I can make it:

• box – 70% recycled, reusable and recyclable.
• ball bands, box labels – 100% recycled paper, recyclable.
• pattern – 100% recycled paper, recyclable.
• tissue – 100% recycled, recyclable.
• business cards, tags, etc – handmade from greeting cards, cereal packets, etc, recyclable.

The carded wool stuffing is a natural product. It is scoured and clean, but may still include the odd bit of straw or leaf.
