I’ve been working on something major – something completely new for Little Conkers and very exciting.
I’m currently getting all my ducks in a row, ready for a launch in September.
Time for another new crochet pattern, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what people make with this one! This crochet ornament pattern is a hugely versatile foundation pattern for hanging decorations and more.

Another new pattern! And this time something rather different from me – these lace-edged nesting bowls.
I must admit that my favourite projects are the practical ones. There’s a great deal of satisfaction in regularly using something you made yourself that really solves a problem or serves a purpose.
But there’s no reason something can’t be glam or pretty or quirky in the process!
It’s been a momentous week, that’s left me feeling the need for familiar, cozy things.
So I’m leaving my more demanding design work aside this afternoon and settling down to some simple crochet.
Update: This has been my best-selling crochet pattern since I first published it in June 2016. I’ve updated this post to make it easier for you to find the links to both the duckling crochet pattern and the complete duckling crochet kit.
What’s been most viewed in my Etsy store this week?
People are obviously feeling very creative in May as they are all crochet patterns and kits!
Top of the pops is my robin crochet kit.
Closely followed by the digital download of the same robin crochet pattern.
Next up is my vintage bag pattern, adapted from an elegant 1930s pattern I inherited from my Great Aunt.
My apple and pear crochet kit. I expect lots of people have teacher gifts in mind at this time of year.
And also in the top five is my very limited-edition oak leaf brooch crochet kit.
I made some little crochet amphorae! Yes I did, and now you can too!
I’m so pleased to have finally got this amphora crochet pattern written up. It’s been an itch I’ve needed to scratch for ages, and its the longest and most detailed pattern I’ve written to date.

Here’s a new design I’ve added to my range today: rainbow brooch cards.
I have no idea why it had never occurred to me to add rainbows to my range of brooch cards before, because they’re so cheerful and I think anyone would love to receive a card with one of these brooches.
